The children have been really engaged in the construction area this month. They have been developing their problem solving skills as they role play going to work and building houses using the large bricks and wooden blocks as well as exploring the various different tools, screws and measuring equipment.
We have also developing their colour recognition through colour sorting activities. There has also been lots of sensory play. We have enjoyed making, gloop, play dough and shaving foam. These activities allow the children to develop her fine motor skills as well as develop their language as we discuss and compare the different textures.
The staff in the strawberry pod in the 3-5 room have been working on the new nursery routine and promoting independence and good hygiene throughout the day. The children have settled well into the new routine and room. The children have been enjoying the role play area.
